I had my birthday the 4th of may! And for this occasion we went on a trip to Barcelona! ☺
The city is amazing and just blew me away! Culture, art, architecture, shopping and delicious food… you will find everything you need! Check out my pictures ☺
The gothic quarter is the ancient ceznter of barcelona and THE place to be! You’ll find churches, cathedrales and palaus at every corner! Just put beside the city guide and discover it by yourself. You’ll be surprised!! And the foood!!! Juste delicious!
I bought a wall clock in a tiny shop called TOTEM. It’s a shop where you’ll find all kind of curious stuff like ancient compas and sextants and these kind of clocks. They call them volantis, and the mechanism is with a flying pendulum, invented by Leonardo Da Vinci himself!
Totem, Carrer d’Avinyó, 28
La Sagrada Familia
An amazing cathedral and the chef d’oeuvre of the Antonio Gaudi, the famous avant-garde architect that invented the modern catalan style. The construction of the sagrada is not finished, it will take until 2026 at least!
I’ve been absolutely blowed away bu the forms and the light in the cathedral! You have to see this from inside! But be aware that you bette buy your tickets online 3 days in advance, you can’t buy them at the entry…
Parc de la Ciutadella
A nice little parc we visited to have a little nap for an hour ☺ We continued our trip right after so we saw only a tiny part of the parc which has so much more to offer!
One of the most famous town houses of Antonio Gaudi. This architecture is crazy! So smooth, round forms everywhere, overwhelming and just sensational! My cam was empty at half time of the visiting so I added some Google Pictures to complete the tour ☺
This house fascinated me so much that I would like to build a home in this style using cob… I’ve been reading a lot about it these days, but I’ll write a serparate topic on that soon!
If you don’t want to wait you can buy your tickets online once again…
Another of Antonio Gaudi’s palace in town! This one is of a former era and therefore it respresents another architectural style, much more gothic and classic. It is darker, more details in the wooden decoration, less curvatures. But still very nice, impressive and definately worth to be visited!
This is a nice little parc above the city! You have to buy the tickets online one or Für den Park Güell muss man auch unbedingt Karten vorher online kaufen und ausdrucken sonst kommt man nicht days before your visit, we had to go home the first time because there were no visits left!
The parc is small but nice and I loved the stone galleries and aqueducts! ☺
Dali Museum Figueres
And last but not least: The Dali Museum in Figueres. It is about km away from barcelona so e took the high speed train. You can buy the tickets online or direct at the main train station barcelona sancts. It costs 16euros one way per person but the museum it definately worth the hassle! So amazing, interactive, and you’ll discover so much things and details if you look a little bit closer, we loved it both!!
But please buy your tickets online!! We had to wait 45min to buy them directly at the museum…
Restaurants and Bars !
Chok – The Chocolate Kitchen
Carrer de Carme, 3
The perfect patisserie! And No2 on tripadvisor ranking for barcelona ☺

I had a millefeuille with vanilla creme stuffing and strawberry topping… ☺
C/ Mallorca, 236
A very nice tapas restaurant! Reserve your table as it is crouwded every evening ☺
Eine leckere boulangerie fürs Frühstück am Morgen ☺
Carrer de la Princesa, 28
And another cupcake and cookie manufacturer… so nice and delicious!
Carrer de Montcada, 22
Before visiting the Picasso Museum we went for a snack in a tiny tapas bar… very simple, but delicious and so cheap!! This is definately for the one who likes it authentic!
An indoor market with several restaurants… the food was expensive and not good at all. So I don’t recomend it for eating, but to visit it as the place is very nice!
Buenos Aires Grill Restaurant
Carrer de València, 189
for my birthday my chéri took me to a grill restaurant, the Buenos Aires. The filet was the best one I ever ate! So delicious!! And as a typical argentinian restaurant they only use 100% angus beef!
El Pintxo de Petritxol
Carrer de Petritxol, 9
This is the best tapas restaurant we found in barcelona! It is in a tiny little street not far away from Las Ramblas and you definately have to book your table before! And try the light Sangria!! It is just delicious!!
